Welcome to Zawina Morocco
A Little About Me & Zawina
I never thought I’d build a skincare brand around black olive soap, a rough exfoliating glove, and a mysterious blue powder. But here we are.
Hi, I’m Camilia, the founder of Zawina Morocco.
I started this adventure in 2019, driven by something very personal: my love for Moroccan beauty traditions and the feeling that the rest of the world was missing out on something special.
You see, I’ve always believed that skincare is about so much more than the products we put on our skin.
It’s about the ritual. The time we choose to set aside for ourselves, even when life gets busy. The simple act of slowing down, being gentle with our bodies, and reconnecting with our femininity.
Growing up with Moroccan beauty traditions taught me that caring for yourself doesn’t have to be rushed or complicated. There is something deeply beautiful about taking a warm bath, preparing a natural mask, massaging oil into your skin, and allowing yourself to enjoy every moment of it.
I wanted Zawina to bring that feeling back.
Not to convince women that they need more products to be beautiful, but to remind them that they deserve their own time, attention, and care.
Because to me, the real beauty of a ritual isn’t just how your skin feels afterward. It’s how you feel about yourself while doing it.
And that’s what I hope every woman discovers through Zawina: that taking care of yourself isn’t another task on your to-do list. It’s a beautiful way of coming back to yourself..
So I started Zawina.
Not with the ambition of reinventing beauty, but with the hope of introducing these beautiful, sometimes wonderfully strange traditions to women everywhere.
Today, our products are still made in Morocco, in collaboration with a women’s cooperative. That part matters enormously to me. Behind every jar is a piece of craftsmanship, culture, and knowledge that deserves to be preserved.
Of course, building a business has been anything but glamorous. There have been mistakes, sleepless nights, a ridiculous amount of trial and error, and plenty of moments when I’ve questioned what I was doing.
But then I see someone on the other side of the world trying a Moroccan hammam ritual for the first time, completely amazed by what comes off their skin, and I remember exactly why I started.
With love,
Camilia
